LVIV (Times Of Ocean)- Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu visited Ukraine’s western city of Lviv on Thursday as part of his diplomatic efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu thanked his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba for having him in such “difficult days.”

The Turkish foreign minister says there is a possibility that Russian and Ukrainian leaders will meet if they agree on issues in which Ankara envisions rapprochement.

Cavusoglu said that hopes for a cease-fire increased after he visited both Russia and Ukraine.

“We held our strategic planning meeting here in Lviv on Oct. 8 (2021). We wanted to come to Lviv, especially during these difficult days, to show our support to our strategic partner Ukraine,” he said.

“…which Ankara sees reconciliation, Cavusoglu said Ukraine has offered Turkey as a guarantee regarding the security dimension of the possible deal, adding that Russia has no objections.”

“With this thought, we brought my friend Kuleba and Russian Foreign Minister (Sergey) Lavrov together in Antalya. I would like to thank Kuleba for his constructive approach at that meeting,” he said.
