Kyiv (Times Of Ocean)- Ukrainian media reported Friday that a journalist was killed in Thursday’s Russian attack on Kyiv.
Vira Hyrych, a journalist for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, was killed when a Russian missile hit her apartment last night, according to Ukrinform, the state news agency.
Multiple missiles targeted a residential building injuring at least 10 people.
The attack came during UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ visit to the Ukrainian towns of Borodyanka, Bucha, and Irpin.
Since Russia’s war began in Ukraine on Feb. 24, more than 18 journalists have been killed and 13 injured, according to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
According to the report, three journalists went missing and eight journalists, including four women, were kidnapped during the war.
